Upon the Killing Fields
From upon the yonder shore I came
Seeking love and happiness
What I got was pain and sorrow
For upon the field I see a blue bird sing amongst the carnage
For a battle rolled amongst the field,
The ground stricken with blood
A sea of pain the tides of which carry the dead men souls
Upon the stricken field I found my lord whom which I was born because of he
To one knee I sat looking at his gray dead face
But I look up to see a woman weep
And sing amongst the blood a song fair to hear and as she looked our gaze was fixed on one another
Through her eyes I saw that this was not her first pain, a love lost, a light put out
I called to her, but she turned and fled,
Into the darkening woods
To be never seen again.
